Good graphic design incorporates the correct combination of colors, shapes, spacing, size, layers, type styles, and attitude. Design makes the difference between “blah” and “WOW!” And it can be the difference between ten customers and ten thousand. Which would you prefer?

Before creating any design, it’s important to know the recipient. Is it a child, or is it a CEO? Do they have a lot of spare time, or will they spend no more than 5 seconds looking at your piece? Do you want them to use and get rid of it… or hang on to it for years to come?

What’s the purpose of the piece? Is it purely informational, or do you need the person to take immediate action?
